This is peculiarity in India, whether government or private sector. While many CEOs send periodic mails to stake holders and 'encourage' them to write back, the communication from the customers/share holders hits a stone wall ! If pursued some very lower level officer replies ,often not to the former's satisfaction.

It's commonly believed that Chiefs who are highly placed cannot afford to take notice of some such trivial matters and left to be dealt by their secretaries or other delegated officials. But we have seen some of our tallest leaders like Dr.Abdul Kalam used to write/respond personally to their mails. I'm reminded of the life of Mrs.Narayana Murthy (Infosys) during her days when she was a student at IIT Bombay. She retorted to Dr.Ratan Tata who was then the Chairman of TATA group about their advt.inviting applications only from male candidates. She only wrote in a post card to him. Surprisingly Dr.Ratan replied her owing his apology and immediately acted upon to remove such restrictions. It's all a matter of how one organises their work schedules and their ethics in matters concerning them.

I would like to add to what LOGINMIRACLE wrote in response to my posting.I have a very pleasant experience concerning Mr.Ratan Tata.I had purchased shares of TELCO and sent them for registration,in those good old days of paper scrips. The shares got misplaced by the Postal department and I had to send indemnity etc etc.All this consumed time and the company paid the dividend to the original shareholder. My claim for it fell on deaf ears and even the top management of the company refused to accept my claim. Then I wrote to Shri Ratan Tata and lo !... Cheque for the dividend amount came to me with a letter of regret from the same people who had earlier refused.
