Hello Sachin,
Professional tax deduction is depend upon individuals income slab not on Age. And every state government has different slabs to deduct PT and that are same for all age level income personnels.

Dear Sachin ji,
Professional Tax is a tax by State Government. Each State Government has its' own Law in this regards. Rate of tax and exemptions are differs in every State.
Your question is on exemption of tax on age criteria.
Maharashtra and Karnataka, age above 65 years there is no Professional Tax. Similar provision may be there in every State which I am not aware of. Members from each State expected to contribute but what I read somewhere which I recollect that every State has a provision according to which Senior citizens are exempt from professional tax.

In Maharashtra physically handicapped person with certain % of disability is exempted from P Tax. There can be other states who may have rule accordingly.

Dear Shrikant_pra,
Thanks for your contribution. You are right. Almost of the States wherein there is a Professional Tax Law, there is an exemption on P.Tax for handicapped persons with certain % of disabilities.
I did not touch upon this subject since the question is on exemption on the basis of age factor and I wish to respond to-the-point.
