Dear Dinesh, I am a lecturer in private college. And I have been assigned to be Project Management Officer (PMO) and have to monitor all KPI staffs.
I need to make a survey on evaluation of KPI staff in my college whether their KPI is relevant or not.. and also for the unit which never have KPI yet.

To handle the assignment of Project Management Officer (PMO), you should have thorough understanding of the concepts of KPI, KRA, PMS and so on. To get thorough understanding, you should have worked in a company where full-fledged has been instituted long ago. On the contrary you have started your assignment with the most basic question like "What is KPI?" Not you put you down or put you off but then your seniors should never have given this assignment to a greenhorn like you.
You are from which country? Will it be acceptable for your management to hire services external consultant? If yes, then we may work together. If you give me this assignment then I will lay a proper foundation and you just have to monitor further.

KPI is Key performance Indicator. Whenever an organization sets up KRAs for an employee (Key result areas) they also set up Metrics to measure the performance of the employees. The measurable results of the performance v/s the objectives set are called Key Performance Indicators.
