You do not have to apply Chi Square Test to study the employee absenteeism. To control the absenteeism, you need to work on the points given in the above link. For this, you need to make action plan to control absenteeism.
Make an action, implement it and come back again after 2-3 months. Please confirm what went on well of your action plan and what did not.
