Dear Seniors, Just now I have switched to a new company, the nature of the business is selling baby toys, dresses, cosmetics and everything via our own outlets. totally we have 19 outlets in 4 states, respectively Tamilnadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. if I'm right. we need to get a sub code to pay their ESI and PF. I am not aware of the Subcode concept. So, please educate me about it.

Dear Hekarthik,
The locations are Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Tirupur and Cochin. Totally, around 140 employees are working. Minimum 7 and maximum 27 employees per branch. As i said above 19 outlets. I hope these data will satisfy you.

dear hekarthik as per ESIC & EPF law minimum eligibality is 20 employer for getting esic code if more than this then you can get sub code by online esic and epf portal

1. Sir(s), it is wrong to suggest that for coverage under ESI Act, 1948 there must be at least 20 employees as mentioned by one of contributor as above. The minimum requirement is of 10 or more persons. Only 2-3 States (viz. Maharashtra etc. ) have not reduced the number of employees to 10 or more persons. Firstly, the main unit of your said "shop" is required to get the ESI Code Number. If your unit is located in Chennai (Tamil Nadu), then you can contact the nearest ESIC office for obtaining of Code Number.
2. After Code number is obtained from ESIC, you can apply and obtain Sub.Code Numbers in respect of respective Branch Offices/Sales Offices located in other Regions/sub-regions of ESIC. You can obtain guidance and procedure on above subject from the concerned office of ESIC as located in Chennai.

Dear Sir

What if a company does not have a branch office in other state but providing services in that other state.
Does it require ESI subcode? and if it does, does it require branch office in that state?
Please help.
