Hii Groupies...
We are planning to introduce "spot bonus" in our organisation. I'm sure there would be someone who would have participated/initiated such a practice in their organisation. Can they share their experiences on the "Post introduction" concerns/improvements. Suggest me if its a boon or bane!
Also, kindly share the areas wherein an employee can be awarded a spot incentive/bonus.
Note: Its a BPO setup!
Thanks in advance.

Hello!! Came across your mail, thought of replying. We have a scheme called 'Sabbash Scheme' which means catching an employee doing an excellent job. An employee doing some outstanding job, irrespective of his level, coming to the notice of the Head of the Department (HOD) is appreciated in front of all employees, He along with his family gets invited for dinner with HOD. The feedback about the scheme is very good. you know these are very good motivational tools and are generally believed to be doing well. Regards Nair KK

Hi!
This is a very useful method of not only compensating but also acts as a motivational tool.
However, one must remember that these schemes should be changed and or modified over a period of time otherwise it may end up tasting like stale food.
I must go on to state a real life example/story.
There was a worker named Ramu in a Manufacturing Unit. He had just joined the company. He had just learnt of a plan to reward innovativeness. As per plan they were to be given one steel glass for one such idea used. He was really happy.
Some 20 years later, I decided to do an industry based project in this Manufacturing unit. I happened to interview Ramu. He had one thing to tell me
"Madamji, mere ghar mein itne saare glasses hai ab kuch plate ho jate to achcha rehta. Itne saare glasses ka mai kya karoon?"
Regards,
Shyamali
