Dear All,
I am working in a builder company from past 3 months, before i join here was policies were created but not implemented. After i joined i making everything to go through process/policy, so everyone are against me and trying to pull out of the company. E
One of th employee who s working from past three years and who is very close to Management is always harassing me and management is not ready to take action.
Can anyone suggest me what action i can take on the employee.

Dear Vinod,

It appears that you have swallowed more than what you could have chewed. While bringing organisational change, it is important to obtain buy-in from the management. To obtain buy-in, you should have earned trust of your management.

Furthermore, making policies is nothing wrong per se. But then to enforce these policies, you could have shot from the shoulder of your MD and not from your shoulder. Shoot without fear but then as long as you are in HR, you should keep gun on some senior's shoulder. I have written these views in my earlier posts also.

Your company's management is not taking any action against harassing senior because for them more than policies that person is important.

Anyway, your career depends on your survival in this company. Better apologise to that senior in private and maintain low profile thereafter for couple months. Alternate to this option is putting up your papers. However, this option is fraught with risks. Therefore, weigh your risks and take appropriate decision.
