Hi Team

I am facing a very tricky situation regarding my background verification in one of the big four consulting companies. The issue is: I passed my MSc from a red brick university in the U.K. in 2005. I do have the document showing my course work and exam percentages, my degree certificate and also a transcript which shows the grades as obtained in the written exam.

These documents have been sufficient in the last 8 years of my current career path. But the documentation requirement in this prospective (consulting company) mentions the final semester mark sheet. Even after providing all the documents as mentioned in the para above, the recruiter is still pestering me for final semester mark sheet - otherwise the offer (which is a very good one) will go on hold. Desperate to maintain the offer - I requested for a fresh transcript from my university. But it seems that they are asking for something which is not issued in the degree and the country where the degree was obtained.

Now my university still exists in the UK and the course still exists and the university is ready to provide references if required but nothing seems to be moving beyond the "final semester mark sheet". I am a bit tired and down now due to this futile argument all for a degree and qualification which I legally obtained - do any of the seniors here have any suggestion regarding how to tackle the same?

Thanks and Regards

When you say that you have the document showing your course work and exam percentages, what do you mean by that?
Whatever course you did you would have got grades for that in a semester manner. I am not sure what is the issue here as it is not clear from your post.
Please clarify.

Can anyone please help me out ? Desperately waiting for some pointers! Unfortunately I am repeatedly talking to someone from my prospective company who doesn't know how the system functions outside of India
Means I have received a document which mentions the following:
Your exam average is X%
Your course work average is Y%
You can proceed to dissertation.
This is something which I received on the University letter head signed by the admin assistant.
Thanks and Regards

Dear leothelion123,
I recommend you writing to the HR Head of the company and obtaining his interview. Write neatly in sequence what is your problem. If HR Head does not respond or remains inexorable (with former as the strong possibility), write a letter to the MD of the company. If MD also does not respond then you have two options, either to forego the job or file a suit for creating unfair recruitment practices. If you go for latter option, you may claim compensation for mental harassment. Nevertheless, do not expect the company to take you on board under such circumstances.
All the best!
