Please advise me what can be done, when an employee absconds from the job. One of our employee who joined 5 months back told us that he wants to get relieved the next day since he have got another offer. But we told him as per the policy he needs to serve the notice period of one month, but at least he can stay for a weeks time, so that we can complete the formalities and relieve him in one week's time.. The employee agreed but did not return to office.Please advice me if we can hold the employees salary for the month as the company have already paid insurance for the employee ,opened bank accounts , PF account / ESI etc., and issued id card as well. Please advice how to handle this issue....
