For senior level Recruitment, You can use various job portals (, Monster, etc) thru search or job posting.
Linkedin is also a good source of recruitment.
Apart from this the good consultant can also help you in hunting the candidates.

If you are looking for senior candidates, you can use LinkedIn or headhunting service. Besides, you can post you job in big job portals as usual.

Linkedin is very effective tool of searching candidates, BUT it depends on which skill sets you are targeting , If your prospective candidates not using Linkeidn Intensively , you are wasting your time on Linkedin.
If you let me know which skill set you are looking, i can help you.
Hiring senior level candidates is easier than looking for entry level programmers. Most of them are readily available on LinkedIn with enough details.
