Dear Seniors, I'm associated with an IT firm which is a start up. I'm planning on implementing the on-boarding program which can help the laterals as well as freshers fit in with ease. Can you please guide me how can i develop such an on-boarding program?

Dear Anuja,
You can identify the departments or the important peoples and their roles in the organisation. You may schedule an induction programme for the new comers. You may decide whether it is a 3 day or one week programme. The new joiner should meet all the departments / persons and understand the processes. As a first step you can prepare a PPT about the company, departments, process, rules & regulations, policies etc. You can present the same to the new joiner. Advise the new joiner to write notes of his understanding. At the end of the induction ask him/her to prepare a presentation on his understandings and ask to present before the HR & the top management.
This will help the new joiner to understand the process and develop rapport with the employees.
You may also introduce a Buddy programme (Assign an existing employee as his friend to guide him and clarify all his doubts) for a couple of months.
Regards,
Narendra
