Our company in Chennai is registered under ESIC. We are paying ESIC to our Office Staffs. Now we have taken up a new site at Bogibeel (interior Assam) and 10 staffs are working. Kindly confirm whether ESIC contribution to be made to these 10 Staffs.
Please also confirm whether ESIC is applicable for the staffs working in Dredgers (Ships).

Dear Sir, as per act you have to take sub code for your 10 employees and ESIC contribution of 10 Employees have to pay on Subcode . because for esic benefitd.

1. I will suggest you to please visit the website of Regional Office, ESIC, Assam, Gauwahati and ascertain the list of implemented areas in the said State. If such information is not reflected in the website of said office of ESIC you can confirm on phone/online whether the area where you have opened your branch/sales office in Assam is declared as implemented area u/s 1(3) of ESI Act, 1948 or not. If the said area is implemented area, you need to start compliance immediately even if you have engaged one employee in said Branch/Site.
2. So far as coverage of dredgers is concerned, please confirm the same from the regional office where such employees are engaged since it is to be confirmed whether the appropriate government has extended the provisions of said Act to such establishments, if separately classified.
