Hi All,
Im interested to understand the referral schemes followed in the service industry. In our organisation, its an unstructured mechanism but want to know how the Referral mechanism works and the referral amount limits which forms the basis of the level of position.
Will be really great, if someone can exchange views on it.

Hi rachita,
In BPo industry referral helps a lot and at the same time attrition will also be at a quiet good rate if it comes thru referral. Most of the big companies starts from 5k and it goes to 10 k depends on the nos that they provide.
like 1- 3 > 5K
3 > 6 > 7 K
6 + each candidate will get 10k
If u need some more info pls do reply.

Hi Rachita,
I hope I am not too late in replying to your post.
I work in a manufacturing concern. We have a referral scheme which we have branded as Buddy Getz Buddy. Under our scheme, incentives can range from 10k to 20k. There are also some rules about the scheme as -
1. The amount will be given only after the rferral completes 6 months in the organization.
2. The referrer should not be the immediate manager, any HR representative or Gm & above.
We also give an appreciation letter to the refferer.
Thanks,
Ligy Jose

a) do calculate % hire thru referral Vs head hunters or different media involved. This should incl Time and money saved measured in the same way you do it for process metrics
b) the incentive for emplyees should NOT be too low Vs the amount paid to head hunters otherwise i hav seen even HR managers route direct applications thru consultants to make money...
c) Birds of a feather flock together: do not allow average/ belw par employees to gve referrals
d) if possible, may be 1-2 years down the line, encourage referalls from ur Vendors/ Supply chain partners/ employee's families etc
