Hello, Mr. Seth,
Thank you for the response! I want to know, "Is there any difference between Core HR, HR Operations, and Strategic HR? If yes, how is the role of HR Operations different from the other two?"
Pradnya.

In core HR functions and HR operations are the same, but strategic HR involves all strategic activities done by senior HR (policies, plans, policy implementations, manpower planning, establishing systems in a planned way, strategic communication).

Well, I had heard from somebody that HR Operation means handling an Operational Unit of a Business Unit. That means, let's say Genpact Gurgaon in DLF City Phase V. There were different operational floors in that branch. The person handling those operational floors will be considered as an Executive, Senior Executive, Assistant Manager, Manager, or whatever may be in HR Operations. I just want to know if the point I presented is wrong, partly correct, or if I am right in my point.

Hi,
What Mr. Amitm said is right; those are all the areas of HR functional or operational areas. Each operation has a certain process flow and procedures that will be created by the strategic HR team. This will be led by a process lead or process owner and carried out by associates, executives, and senior executives.
For example, if an employee joins, the joining team will take care of the joining formalities, check the quality of the JK, and generate an Employee code. After the employee code creation, the Background Verification team will start verifying the previous employment and education certificates. If an employee resigns from a company, the FFS team will handle that. Every operation has its unique process structure.
If I made any mistakes, I request you, seniors, to correct them.
Many thanks, Manikkavasagan R

Dear Pradnya,
It would have been useful to know why you have raised this question. Are you a student trying to find an answer for your assignment? Assuming you are, as a non-HR person, I searched the web using the terms "difference between operational HR and strategic HR" and found the answer at eHow.
