Dear Sir/Mam, A very happy night to all of you. I am working for a very reputed manufacturing company since 2010. I have 4 years of Sales and Business Development experience and PGDM in Marketing. In November 2013 I was rotated to Human Resources Department. I liked working in HR as same I enjoyed my working in Sales. But now I want to make my career in HR and I have applied for PGDHRM in Symbiosis Centre for Distance Educations. I

am worried as to how the market will accept me if one day I want to search for a better opportunity outside? Is there any good future for me without having a regular HR degree? It should not be happened that I cannot make decisions on time and afterwords even I will not be suitable for Sales. As what my heart says I like HR but practically if I will think so for job security aspect my mind keeps telling me to search a Sales job or shift to sales once again in my same company for which even my seniors are OK. But my Vice President HR thinks I am very well for HR hence last time when I applied for transfer he stopped me doing that. I respect him and my company but I am confused. Kindly help.

Hi,
HR is a very interesting field.
As your senior management is supporting you, i would suggest you to go ahead. I am sure you will not regret this decision at any stage.
HR is no rocket science. But basic knowledge in HR is a must. A good degree in HR will definitely be helpful to you. Please keep yourself updated continuously about the different aspects of HR not only in your office but around the world.
Wishing you all the best for a bright future.
Regards,
Alex
