Hello,
Myself Meenakshi. I am into HR and recruitments (majorly into recruitments from alst 8 - 9 years). Now i got an opportunity of Executive Assistant (EA) from a very good Company. So kindly suggest me shall i go for it. Will it help me in my future. Recruitment stuff is there but it is very very less. Kindly suggest. This profile seems interesting to me, but again don't know what to do.
Please let me know the pros and cons of this. Can a Recruiter become EA.
Waiting for your urgent reply.
Regards,
Meenakshi

Hi Meenakshi,
EA role is stick to Secretary to MD Position only, First you need to clarify with them whether they are providing you only EA role or it would b inclusion of some HR role.
With My opinion EA role has less career growth than HR/Recruitment. After having experience as EA, there would be no further career growth or Designation/Position/Responsibility to handle ...
Even one of my Friend having 4+ exp as EA to Director trying hard to get into HR Role. She has attended the training program as well to get into HR.

i have worked at a similar profile. the exposure and perks maybe very good but in terms of career progression it will be difficult. you would eventually like to get into admin/hr role.
Look at it this way- an hr executive can grow and reach upto the level of manager, vp, head-hr, but an EA cant really grow in terms of seniority, she/he cant become manager or head of EAs? the career growth gets stunted, so give it a thought! :) all the best!

Hi Meenakshi,
Learning is everywhere whether it is a recruitment domain or in some other profile also. But you have to decide that what you want to do in your future. If you talk about the scope in recruitment the possibility is a bit high rather in office assistant profile and in terms of salary and incentives recruitment will have higher chances.
Both the profile are different with each other in EA you may get a chance to move yourself in Admin and in HR Generalist too but that depends on the requirement of the company. You can go ahead and grab the opportunity of learning the new things but you must check the job responsibilities first .
Good Luck.
