Rahul_Sarin
I joined company in Oct 2005 . In 2007 I was promoted to Dy. Manager . I am Stuck up at Dy. Manager for the last Seven Years. When I was not promoted last year I met HR head to know as to what is lacking in me and my shortcomings so that I may improve and overcome my Shortcomings. I was told that I did not perform well in the Interview. It was possible that I felt confused in the short span of Interview. This time I presume that I did well in the Interview. I am a very unfortunate person who is stagnating at L-12 for the last Seven Years. Even Diploma Holders have been promoted to Manager and I have not been Promoted although I am BE (Industrial & Production). While a person who joined recently at Dy. Manager has been promoted to Manager and I am therefore demoralized.

I was sponsored by the Company for two years part time MBA course in MDI Gurgaon in 2010. I got my MBA Degree with good Grading. I have, however, not been given any credit for this degree in connection with my Promotion. Instead a monthly recovery is being made from my pay for attending this Course.

I am having 12.5 years of experience with academic qualification MBA & B.E but still I am at Dy Manager for the last 7 years. If a person with same experience and academic qualification directly joins my comapany as a lateral is offered a min level of Sr. Manager . I am frustrated as the company has neither given any weightage for my experience nor given any weightage for my qualification. My grades affected after opting a company sponsored Part Time MBA from MDI Gurgaon.

What to do please help me the solution???

Dear Mr. Rahul Sarin
After going through your post, I am convinced that you wasted a lot of time in this organization. move out as early as possible. There is no future for you in your current organization. I also went through a similar situation. I was sponsored for a full time MBA with salary, perks and all other educational expenses.I also got the same treatment like you except that I didn\'t attend any interview. In fact I was the only person with a MBA at that point. Fresh MBAs were recruited and place as deputy managers and after two years promoted as managers. once My three years bond got over and I resigned after 12 years\' of service.. Now I am Director Administration of a company. The longer you stay with this organization , lesser will be your chance of getting job else where.
I wish you all the best. if required you may contact me- drnairbangalore@gmail.com

You can leave the company but after paying the amount invested by the company on you, that is on your MBA program. If the company has already recovered a part of it, you can pay the remaining and get relieved. As Nair has pointed out, you have already wasted your good time in the company and if you continue there in the same position it will prove against you. But having been taken pain to send you for higher education, I don't think that the establishment is that bad. Also there is no scope for challenging this case before Labour Court; if you are not okay with the company you can take a leave and in this case how the court will help you?

Rahul Sarin,
Your's is a sad story. There are many like you, trapped.
Did you sign a bond for your MBA program? Terms?
Send in your notice to resign and see what the company has to say. You can mention that you have been sidelined for promotions because ppl with same or less than your qual have been selected. Maybe there will be a court case, be ready for it. In India bonds are illegal and 7 years in the same post with new entrants with equal qual in higher posts is good ground for you to cry harassment and victimisation.
All the best.
Give notice and quit. Join the new company but take them into confidence.
sekar......I am also the victim of a bond but I am still fighting it.

Dear Rahul,
I have gone through your post and members discussed on this. I suggest you to meet a Advocate (expert in Labour Cases). Your case is basing on terms and condition of bond executed by you. Hence obtain the bond executed to company and meet a good Advocate. He will give a good suggestion.
