What action can be taken against an employer, if he is not paying the employees in a start up company(5months old) which is part of a Big group of companies.
Can anyone throw some light on this!

Hi Babu,
I think you should go to Labour office but not alone. There are lots of agent who have laison with labour officer etc. You can go alone but if you have knowledge about Wages act. otherwise Labour officer will make you fool because they are greedy. They will demand money from employer and if employer will pay them they will make you fool.

Hi Babu, I agree with Raj - Please go thru the Labour Commissioner. This will help you and you will receive your proper salary (in some case more that you deserve) :D

Hi, The employer can be prosecuted for non payment of salary under the Payament of Wages Act. The matter should be taken up with the Labour Authorities in writing. Cyril
