Dear Friend,
If the Gross Rate Salary of an employee is less than or equal to 15K, then he is eligible for the ESIC and the ESIC Contribution has to be deducted on Total Earning of that particular employee, regardless of his Total Earning exceeds the ESIC Limit.
We have to deduct the ESIC contribution on Total Earnings. The Total Earnings will consist of all the Allowances paid the Employee as mentioned in Salary Slip.

Hello,
I presume the employee is already registered under ESIC.
In which case you need to pay ESIC on Rs.18000 - Employee Co. is 18000*1.75% and Emplr Con is 18000*4.75%
Hope this helps..

Even if the employee's salary crosses Rs.15000/-, so long as the employee is in the contribution period, he will continue to pay
his contribution towards ESI, till the contribution period is over.
Trust this clarifies your querry.
