I drew salary only for 3 months and left job two years ago. Can I claim EPF? The PF contribution as mentioned in my pay slip was Rs.780

Dear Meena Nakul Prasad,
Yes you can. For each month there will be an employee contribution of Rs. 780 and employer contribution of Rs. 239 (780 - 541) amounting to Rs. 1019 will be remitted to PF. Hence there will be an accumulation of Rs. 3057 (3x1019) with interest which can be withdrawn. Note that after 3 years your account will become inoperative and further no interest will be added to your account. Therefore hurry to apply for withdrawal.

Meena, Please once check with the PF authority, as PF amount for less than 6 months is not allowed to be withdrawn, I am not sure though, still u can check with the PF office directly.

Dear Mayur Shinde,
When you respond to a query that is specifically answered, kindly make sure of the provisions of the Act. There is no clause that to avail PF, there should be a minimum of 6 months contribution. You are correct in case of PF pension. To get withdrawal benefit from EPS there should be a minimum contribution of 6 months. Even if the EPS service is below 6 months, it can be transferred to get clubbed with future services.
