Hi,
Myself Ashvini working as HR executive. Handling 15 size team but i m able manage them. but problem is that when they r eating during working hrs and taking extra lunch time; means they are taking 30 min lunch time and also went for out office.And its happening daily.I already given instruction but they r not following company rules and regulations. i m not able to tell them its wrong practice. i don\'t like to shout every day b\'cuz its making my bad impression on them. kindly help me for this problem. Whatever my team is doing it is wrong or correct. and give best solutions.

Dear Friend,
There is no need for shouting over their behaviour, You can change them by friendly talk, train the Core Value of the Organisation to them, try to correct them slowly. You prepare a circular to the workmen, in which you make a positive request to stop that parctice.

Is the HR team u talking about or other team members in office?
As a HR u need to be soft and straight forward in whatever u want to convey. As rightly said by Bala in above post u need to be very polite,
but as u have already mentioned that u have warned them about the same still no change in their behaviour, u can ask ur senior to once talkt to them on this matter.
U can also formally draft a office time policy in which u mention guidelines for such things happening in office. Let me know if further help is needed.

As Bala and Mayur have given you some advice, based on limited information, let me raise a few questions to clarify the situation. Could you kindly tell us a bit more about your experience (How long have you worked in all and how long have you been in this company?). Also, could you elaborate on what you mean by you are able to manage a team of 15? Do these 15 belong to HR? If so, it must be a very large company. What sort of an organisation is this? Do the staff have to work long hours and also take lunch at their desks, as it happens in some firms?

whatever answer you both are suggested i already done this. I m very polite with them but no any impact. i don't have any problem, they are eating but in working hrs 3-4 times they are sharing snacks with colleagues and making disturbance so its make habit to new comer also. We have already providing lunch time and as tea break. and here friendly environment. Not maintain daily report, each and every day i need to ask them i didn't received daily report send me, then they getting irritated with me but they taking me wrong.

coming late as well. we are giving excuse to employee up to 3 late mark in month, but when they coming too much late then they are not sitting late and cover late mark.

Already stick Rules and regulation on notice board. Whenever i trying to tell them its wrong practice that time they thinking like i am angry and making restriction on them. And its getting impact on work means they starting murmuring and making bad habit to others. So i want solutions like that if suppose i will be give any memo to them so it will be correct or wrong. like it will get positive impact or not. If i will not stop this it will create big problem in future. But my boss told me that don't do apply any new now b'cuz we want to get work complete in urgently. if we will apply any rules or memo it will be get impact on work. but i want solution like that without hurting my team mind, will maintain office environment. We are small scale company. I m with this company since last 2 yrs. but when i joined i m only HR over there so i don't have any senior guidance but i have build up lot of think in my company as per my knowledge and ability and improve work strategy, administration, each and every think. so dn't other company HR work strategy, please help me and give proper solution.

If me also someone will give instructions daily don't do this, etc then i also get fed up or irritated its quite human nature so same problem i m facing i don't want to tell them about rules and regulation b'cuz it will get impact on my productivity, performance as well get polluted environment. I want to improve company productivity and maintain good corporate culture.

As you have tried everything and still facing the problem, its seems to be a practice amongst your team to break rules. You said its small company, so we are still not clear that these employees are in HR or in Operations/ Technical team.
May be you need to be more hard on them., issues warning letter etc would help.
HR as well IT team. I didn't get tried but i want seniors guidance and resolve this problem as earliest. this solutions will helpful to me in my future if when i will be handle one branch. Thats why i want seniors guidance.

As suggested earlier, you need to take serious steps. Memo or warning letter, or else verbal warning or on email with your senior in loop is the only solution for this, If those guys are not taking you seriously you need to take some hard decisions.

If you could kindly answer all the questions raised and also give more information, it helps us to guide you better. However, you seem to ignore the questions and keep harping on finding a solution to your predicament. I hope you will do the needful.
In any organisation, people will be used to old informal ways. If a newcomer tries to change the system, the attempt will be met with resistance. I think that's what is happening here. Have you tried drawing a Force Field Analysis of what is going on? Respect has to be earned can not be forced or demanded. In your case, I ma sorry - you need to improve you English lot, you may have to change your dress, and the way you walk etc., You are just an executive - there they are experienced people but still my be executives or senior executives. Without you organization can run - without them - co., may face some troubles. Talk talk and talk -not about rules but something else, go with them outside or sit with themfor lunch.. be one among them and them so you can advise them as a friend. Tell the, some stories, assist them in accounts - one by one - weed them / change them to your side. please talk to them nicely.Do not use the stick when you can not raise it.
