Cristee
Dear seniors,
This is basically just to clear a small doubt about my final yr project. I'm planning to do my project on the topic "Effectiveness of Training & Development in an organization"( including best practices followed, skills required for the trainer etc). Can I include Talent management as a part of this topic as it is an upcoming area in HR? If I choose talent management as my topic alone, will it be effective practically while carrying out the project?? There aren't much firms in Kerala that carry out the practice of talent management in their organisation.
Yours Sincerely,
Cristee

Dear Cristee,
Talent management is a vast area and a critical one too; as I see it, Learning & Development becomes a part of it. Talent management typically includes everything under the scope of HR. If you go by the literary meaning, it includes every step taken towards maintaining and developing the skill inventory - typically the employees. Since who is hired has a direct effect on this, hiring comes under its scope too. Hope this helps
