Hi, Please let me know the following: What are the criteria’s stated by government that a proprietorship firm is required to start doing TDS for its employees. Looking for Support. Thanks, Akansha.
For the purpose of Salary every one has to pay TDS whether its is prop. firm or partnership firm or any enterprises if employer giving taxable salary.
For TDS on payments, there is no any separate rule for Proprietor Firms. The Rules are same i.e. 92 B, 94 C, etc. etc.
Only in case of TDS deduction from the payment of Proprietor Firms there is 1% TDS on Section 94C. Otherwise it is 2%.
