Hi seniors, my name is Aditya. I completed my B.Tech in Computers and MBA in HR in 2013. Currently, I am working as a Recruitment Consultant in a startup consultancy for the past 6 months. I have observed that the salary standards in the recruitment industry are quite low. Therefore, I am seeking all of your suggestions to enhance my career. Please recommend any courses or paths that would be helpful for me to improve my career prospects in terms of both salary and work satisfaction.

Regards,
Aditya

I wonder what made you start your career as a recruitment consultant with a B.Tech in computers and an MBA in HR. You could have begun your career as a techie in an IT company, where your HR qualifications could also be put to use since you would need to apply people management skills as a team leader or as an HR professional in an IT company. Your knowledge of IT could come in handy in discharging various HR functions like designing jobs, job competencies, assessing skills, and developing training programs for IT professionals. You need to think in terms of a long-term career.

Thank you for your response. What you said is right, but there are so many companies that are not ready to hire an MBA graduate for a technical position. I have attended a couple of interviews with IT companies, and during the interview rounds, they drilled my head on why I chose an MBA after B.Tech. The result was completely negative.
