Hi, I worked in a company last year from march 2012 to april 2013. Due to some personal conflicts with management I absconded from the company. (But I put my resignation and was serving my notice period of 1 month. Before a week to complete notice period, the HR kind of started to give mental torture which i was unable to bear, so I left the company). I have no relieving letter. I paid 2 months salary but still they are asking 1 lakh for my US travel expense. Now i need form 16 but they are not issuing saying that I have to pay the money else they will take legal actions. They are ruthlessly threatening me that they will spoil my career. Please advice me how to handle this.

Once a company send you to some other country, obviously they will be interested on you and expecting from you to give more results. If you are leaving the company after your US Visit, (Hope it is a on job training programme), they they will claim from you.
Go and discuss with your superior and HR Department and get resolved amicably.
