First of all you will have to ascertain the nature & size of industry in which or with which would like to focus your research. After you have decided this, you may choose some HR relevant topics viz. HR practices, HR Policies, promotional policy, Manpower composition, Welfare measures, CSR Policy and functioning, Industrial Relation machinery and its functioning, Grievance Redressal machinery and its functioning etc. etc. Now it is upto you and your area of interest as to which area you focus upon. Some are interested in becoming an Establishment / Administrative matter experts, some Welfare Measures experts, some IR matter/Legal matter experts, so on and so forth. Now it upto you to decide upon the field and nature & Size of industry you look upto.
