Hi :
We want to create a point based appraisal system something similar to the way the Immigration system of UK and Australia works.
Members please suggest me inputs in terms of what are the attritutes/parameters to be considered and how to allocate points to the attritubutes.
Please guide.

Hi Gia,
Its a broad topic to be discussed and implemented. I guess u r in an IT industry... Based on which u need to evaluate what exaclty are the performance indicators in your employees work.
Like, who are revenue earners and non - revenue earners? based in the complication of work u need to frame the scale.
U can have it form 1 to 5, 1 being the lowest & 5 being the highest.
Let me know if more clarifcation is required.

Hi :
We currently use the Graphic rating scale i.e. 1-5 rating scale. We want to adopt a point based system for e.g. in the UK work permit processing system there are attributes like Sponsorship, Salary, English skills etc. and each attribute is linked to points. Say Sponsorship (30 points) so if the applicant has a sponsor who is a local citizen points given to candidate will be 30 which is max, if the sponsor is a resident (a immigrant) then points given will be 20 etc.
I want to create a similar point based system for Appraisal also. Please suggest in case anyone is currently using this type of appraisal system.

See that the answer to your question.. FIx up attributes/ Characterstics that are linked to perfomce (e.g Project Delivery/ Project Execution/ Quality/ Timeliness etc.) Then allot fixed points to them and complete the sum to 100. Then as per rating and employee perfomance give marks to each attributes of performance. After that u can sum up the numbers and arrive to a total and based on the total score u can go ahead with appraisal rating!
Hope this helps!
Thanks!
