Dear Sir,

I am working with a reputed organization where my office timing is from morning 10.00 AM to evening 7.00 PM, but every day at evening my R.E (Reporting Manager) is coming to store where I work and telling me to stay till 9 PM as he'll also staying there. When I have asked my reporting manager the reason for staying so long after my official timing is over, he answered me with abusive language as your reporting manager is still present in the store you also had to stay in the store. I have noticed that my report manager doesn't do any kind of official work but what he does is after the official time that is after 6:30 PM he comes into the store and engaged in doing Facebook and chatting with other friends and it goes on to till 9:30 PM and then he returns home. My question is as there is no work for me after my duty timings is over why should I stay in my store, even when there is no overtime bonus or payment provided to us, during our training time our trainer told us that your daily work time ends at 7 PM and don't bother if the store opens till 10/11 or 12.00 PM. Can my reporting manager forced me to stay till such a long time without any positive work to be done for me and can I take any kind of action in labor law. Please suggest me how can I tackle the situation.

You Can directly approach to the HR regarding the same and tell you problem in polite manner and not like complaining manner an just say that you are willing to stay for longer if there any work pending but if there's no work please allow me to leave after finishing my working hours.
