Dear All,
To all the HR Professionals.
I have done MBA (Marketing) in the same year in which recession ghost engulfed the nation. College placement was not standard. Co's used to come ,but none of their conditions were in our favor. However, i got a job in small company in admin role( manpower = 30). I din't want to get in marketing because all the jobs that were available or were getting are of core SALES... which i cannot do.... As the time passed, i got an opportunity to work with HR Deptt in the same comp. To be more precise, said deptt was handled by one man, & i was told to assist him... I learned the basics of PF, ESI, salary prepartion, etc etc..
Now, i want to switch to another company in HR domain? My question is , is my specialization any hurdle in getting Job in core HR. ? Please revert ?...??>>??>

You have done MBA in Marketing but does not like to join core sales, you want to pursue your career in HR, Would like to ask you how much experience you got in HR the period, to know the basics and to do practically without assistance there is a wide gap. If you are confident enough that you will manage to sail through you can go ahead in small companies and gain thorough knowledge then can apply to big companies for higher role. Hope this satisfies your query.

Hi,
If you want to pursue career in HR but you have degree in marketing then do one thing, Take admission in short courses of HR or in PGD (HR). With experience, this will add academic certification to your resume as well. .

Dear Saji Sir,
Thanks for the kind advice. However, i would like to add that my role in HR wasn't confined to only Statutory compliances. I was looking after Employee Engagement, ER..... etc.. & i have been in this field for last 3 years... what i would like to know is any certified courses . which help me in getting into the core HR profile. one more thing i would like to add is that prior to MBA , i was working with recruitment consultant as HR(recruitment) " screening resumes from job portals for the company's client's. ?
Is their any test to find out how much knowledge (technical) do i possess regarding HR domain...?
Sir, Kindly help?
Regards

There are many courses available you can apply for PGDHRM as suggested by yourcareerlion, my concern was when you were doing recruitment in consultancy before your MBA course, what tempted you to do MBA Marketing ???. Later then late you can still do if time and resource permits you.

Dear Sir,
