My friend has the following job history.
1) Worked in a non IT industry for 3 years in some company. For entering the IT feild, he is showing 3 years fake experience as working in Company A. Meanwhile got trained about subject.
2) Got job in company B. Showing the fake exp certificates of Company A. Worked here for 1 year. ( Mostly verification didnt happen or it is cleared)
3) Now he wants to apply for a new company C.
While applying for company C, he doesn't want to show fake exp anymore. Is it possible? He wants to show the non it exp of first 3 years and the genuine exp of working in company B. Will this be a problem in future?

Well, go for safe side by showing the original ones only if you find eligible yourself with your original certificates for the profile and do not worry, even if you have not huge experience but have skills developed then you have a chance to get selected with no further risk.
Suppose, you get selected on the base of your skills and fake docs and joined the company and later in verification if they find your certificates are fake then you will be terminated at the same time and company do not even consider your skill sets at that moment.

Hi,
Yeah your friend can easily disguise his experience and It is more recommended to show only REAL experience but make sure that your friend's resume has same experiences as he wants to show.

Hi,

Fake experience certificates have a nasty way of emerging at times when you least expect them to or you may even have forgotten about them.

Fundamentally, it is incorrect and wrong to build the foundation of your career with sand !!

Given the situation that you are in now, I would suggest you go ahead and submit the 3 years non IT experience and the 1 year IT experience, both of which are genuine. Hope for the best that Company C, doesn't not seek details of your experience from Company B, because if it does, then you will be exposed.

Also, please keep in mind, that there cannot be any guarantee that this will not create a problem in future. There are several instances of very senior people getting caught with resume frauds and having had to resign. Some well known examples are (i) David Edmondson, CEO of Radio Shack, (ii) Marilee Jones, Dean of Admissions at MIT, (iii) Ronald Zarella, CEO of Bausch and Lomb, (iv) Kenneth Lonchar, CFO of Veritas and many many more.

All the best in your career, and please don't embellish it with fiction or fake statements to secure a temporary advantage / benefit.

It has become a routine for people to adopt unethical means first and asking for 'advice' in this forum to come out of it!! This only shows the moral degradation of the society where people think nothing about adopting unethical means and consider such behaviour as a normal behaviour. I feel, this forum should have a policy not to encourage such queries and put an end to this menace. It would be our humble contribution to uphold ethics in public and personal life.

I understand and i do not support the fake menance. My freind wants to come out of it and just show the real 1 year exp of working in company B. The pay will be less in terms of his age but he is happy with it.
Does Company C also verify the exp details from Company B?

Hi again,
There is no hard and fast rule that is followed across the board. Requirements for background verification vary from company to company and are also dependent on Company Policy.
Whether Company C verifies details of experience from Company B will depend upon several factors like (i) the nature of the job (for sensitive / complex jobs, many more details are sought that just a confirmation of tenure served), (ii) any small discrepancy that may raise suspicions could trigger a further and deeper check, (iii) the past experience of Company C with respect to background checks that they have conducted vis-a-vis the outcome, and finally (iv) in a small sample of cases, more details are sought - this is like a random sampling.
All the best.
