Dear Members, I am newly join in plastic industry in HR department, my senior ask me to conduct the survey for training need or training to employees. please advise me how i start training process.

Identify the training needs through competency mapping & Performance Management System by taking maximum competencies and skills required to perform their activities.
Competency Mapping:-Required Qualification, Skills, and Experience (minus) Existing Qualification, Skills and Experience = Gaps (Gaps are Training needs)
Competency Mapping should be done to identify gaps with the help of Concerned Head of Department.

You can get relevant information on training needs of employees from the documents which you have with you. One such document is the the performance appraisal document which contains information about the current job which the employee is handling, the report on his performance by his mangers and their recommendations about the trainings to be given to him. The other source of information is the PINS( Personnel Information system) which contains all details about responsibilities handled and, trainings received etc.You can extract the information from the informative store house lying with you only. If you do not have any such documents, then you need to prepare a document to collect details from the employees which shall largely contain columns about the jobs held by them in the past and the present in the organisation, the details of trainings received by him hither to and the evaluation report of his manager on his performance and the areas and skills he is lacking in etc. This will enable you to assess the training needs. However experts in training may chip in with more useful inputs..

Dear Friend,
Read all the "Appraisal Forms" of previous years. That will give a fare enough idea of training need of your Organization. Speak with various heads (Finance, Production, IT, Admin. etc) and try to know what their team needs. In my experience, all training requirements boils down to Leadership Training (Negotiation Skills, Coaching, Team Management, EI etc) for Top Management. Managerial Training for Senior Manager, and Skill BAsed training for middle managers. For junior management hard core technical training is required that is done on the job itself. Then at last there are certain statutory training needs like safety, environment and health related training.
Don't get puzzled, as you cover the distance the path will appear.

Claissify the training needs into technical, non techncal
for tech - injection molding methods, plastic and its property , testing , Quality , safety, m/c related etc
non tech ; communication skills ,safety, 5s,leadership skills, Excel ect.
this requirment you can know by performance apprisal training need identification from indiviaual, by skill mapping, Process owner HODs dicussion etc.
