I am a working woman having started career late in life. I have worked in administration for 10 years and two years now in HR. I have given results in HR which any qualified HR person can do. Since I am only a graduate and not full time MBA, will I get an opportunity to go and work in another company where I would be honoured for my creative work and not for my qualification?

Hi,
Yeah you can get HR job in any company on the base of your experience but one thing I should recommend you to try to get degree or certificate in HR so that your resume will be stronger in both qualification and experience slot.
My second piece of advice is do highlight your HR achievements in your resume.

Firstly I admire you for starting your career again. Now some employers are looking for skills from an experienced candidate rather than qualifications. So you can try. However, to avoid lack of a relevant qualification coming in your way in future when you aspire for a career in HR or better package, I suggest you to pursue a part time MBA in Bhubaneshwar or if it is not permissible, a part time diploma in HR or a certification in HR.

Dear Friends
Thanks for answering my query and guidance. What kind of certifications in HR are available which I can apply for? May please guide me. Are there any certifications that I can get online too?

There may be certification courses on psychometric testing, on pay roll and compensation, on generalist HR ,on soft skills training or talent management or labour welfare etc. Try Wellingkar Institute Mumbai or Symbiosis Pune for on line courses. Bhubaneshwar itself has some reputed Institutes on management.Try there fisrt. All the best.

Hi,
After seeing your post, one can come to the conclusion that you are very confident at HR. Now-a-days certificates are just the entry passes to attend an interview. As per my knowledge, there are many companies who prefer experience rather than qualification.
I suggest you to complete your part time or full time MBA from a very good recognized university or B-school as well as continue in the present position and company.
Once you get your MBA degree. You can demand the recruiters/HRs about the position and package. OR ELSE...
You can have a certified course on training (or) performance appraisal or any other topic on HR & grab some real time experience. Companies will hire you easily if you are certified in any one of the HR courses since you have around 10 yrs of exp. in admin & 2 yrs in HR.
Have a bright future ahead
