HR Processes 1. Should be Automated 2. Should be Outsourced What you people say? Regards Amit

Hi
I think the processes should be automated not Outsourced!
Automation reduces the paper work & in turn helps an HR to utilizes his/her time, for what the management has hire them i.e.; strategic HR,Risk planning,Budgeting, foreseeing issues proactively & maintaining Employee Relations.
From an HR point of view; Hr need not be Outsourced as it becomes very important that the internal HR's should be a part of each & every nitigrity of the process so that they can understand & know the value of the set policies or process.
From the employee point of view,i think they would be more comfortable if they are aware that the process is handle within the Organization rather than by some agency of whose credentials they are not sure of.
Organization Point of view:You must be aware that nowadays information leaking has come up as a major issue!
Thant's my view!

Amit, even I like the idea of HR Automation but Outsourcing will not be a good idea. BCZ the relationship between HR and each department is very vital and we need to address so many issues to the management for the benefit of employees for which it is necessary to work with the employees.

Hi Amit,

For effective outsourcing the HR processes should be automated. You can effectively outsource a process if you have automated fully or partly -

Eg - If you outsource the payroll process - the offer letters are still produced by HR, if you maintain the salary at your end and collate and send it to payroll vendor on a monthly basis you are doing part of his job. So the best scenario would be to have an HRMS system that connects to the vendor who can either pick up salary data or receive an automated email from the HRMS.

similarly we can talk about Insurance process - if HR maintains the data they are doing the vendors job - but obviously vendors do not have sophisticated tools so it becomes internal HR's responsibility to ensure the vendor receives accurate data on time and without process failures.

Automation is imperative to HR; without automation we cannot continue for a long time and moreso HR as a profession cannot reach the next level -- handling only "Strategic" areas and leaving transactions to tools and vendors.
