An employee is eligible to take CL and SL during probation period, PL is entitled only after completion of 240 days. Please check your leave policy for further understanding.
With regards to your second question, PF is deducted on the Basic Salary and not on Gross Salary, TDS is deducted on the total earning/Income of the year.
Hope that your query must have resolved.

Dear Mr.Saji,
Thanks for the reply..
my company promised me a take home NETT package of approx Rs.60,000/-per month and verbally promised this amount will be credited to my bank..but all these days i'm fighting badly to get it. The big joke is as follows " i have not received my appointment letter till date"
Therefore i was confused with gross ctc /monthly..all my previous employer had income tax, etc amount from gross..what mentioned on nett take home, without fail will reach my bank..please make me understand with a small example.
regards, sreejith

CTC means cost to company, wherein all statutory contributions of the employer's, Gross salary is the actual earning of the employee without any statutory deductions, Net Take home is the cash/salary on hand after all statutory deductions. Income Tax/TDS is calculated on the Gross Salary, it is the duty of the employer to deduct from the salary before handing over the cheque as salary.
For exact answer please send the forum the specific query, instead of vague one, wherein the members will not be able to reply to your thread.
