Before issue of notification for enhancement of wage ceiling, the Central Govt. is required to issue notification of its intention to amend present provisions of wage ceiling as per Section 95 of ESI Act, 1948. It appears that the said notification of intention has not so far been issued.
The exact position can be ascertained from the appropriate Regional Office of the ESIC.

Dear Shri MEHTAji,
I do not think that Intentional notification and calling for objections against the rule proposed to be amended is necessary under Sec 95 of the ESI ACT.What is required is a previous publication in the official Gazette of the U.O.I.( SUB Section (3)

When the last enhancement in wage ceiling was done in the year 2010 w.e.f. 01/05/2010, the draft intention notification dated 26/02/2010 was published in the Gazette of India Part-II, Section -3, sub-section 1, Extraordinary dated 27/02/2010.
I hope, if I am not mistaken, your goodself may confirm the same from appropriate office of ESIC, if otherwise desired.

Dear Sh.MEHTAji,
I checked with the final notification issued in April 2010,which speaks about the intentional notification dated feb 2010 and the objections received and disposed,when the wage limit was increased to Rs.15000 wef 1.5.2010.
So I stand corrected and I thank you for your timely intervention.
So we have to wait for intention notification,followed by a final notification atleast after a clear 30 days notice period.
So the increase in wage ceiling may be only in the New year.
