Ms Chakrapani
Hello Sir,

I'm working in a small Housekeeping organization where the finance and HR people sit together. I'm working here since May 2010. I had joined as a accounts trainee but then was promoted as the Head of accounts dept. Now suddenly our HR has left the job in April 2013 and I have been given the post of Manager accounts & HR. Wherein i still handle accounts finalization and also supervise the HR team.

Working for a long time I have some Knowledge about HR. I'm happy to get the new promotion. As we deal in more in labour I want to gain more professional knowledge about the legal issues relating to salary of employees. (I have the basic knowledge about compliance relating to minimum wages act and the benefits given to employees). I want to train myself more professionally in recruitment and legal salary compliance including Paid leaves and gratuity.

I want to know is there any short term courses or seminars available where I can get the knowledge. As I want to give my 100% to the company and also I'm happy that I have got a new challenging job.

I just want to add that I do not want to do any managerial course in HR as I have already done my MBA in Finance.

Hi
There are a lot of executive MBA programs that are basically not an MBA but short term focused education on a specific subjects. IIMs run such programs for 15 days to 3 months and in some cases weekend programs for a quarter. I thinkS P Jain also has something like that. Wellinkar and TISS would be other options. JNLU Is another option. I have heard them being appreciated but never actually met anyone who did their courses. However JNLU was set up for people like you. You need to do your homework on them.
There are also some courses being run online. There are some overseas courses but not sure if they would make sense in your situation.
Of course, this forum is a massive knowledge base you can leverage on.
