Performance is what is expected to be delivered by an individual or a set of individuals with in a time frame. Performance has many dimensions- Output or result dimensions; Input dimension; time dimensions; Focus dimensions; quality dimensions; cost dimensions.
Appraisal determines the performance of an employee by measuring the quantitative factors.
performance management is a continuous process. Appraisals are periodic activities. Management is a dynamic process while appraisals are static. Appraisals are a part of performance management.
Performance management with performance appraisal should lead to increased performance.
