Ten minutes enough for an interviewer to judge a candidate?
We all have faced interviews many times and for entry or mid level interviewers spend ten to fifteen minutes with a candidate. can a candidate potential and skills be judged in this short time? i personally have attended many interviews and have conducted many interviews also. i would like to share my experiences as a candidate. at the beginning we are not so comfortable with the interviewer. there may be many reasons as the environment is hostile and the interviewers are aliens to us. generally we take time get familiar with the people and environment. we have a feeling that interviewers know everything and we may not know all. sometimes we got scared because of failure; what will happen if we dont get selected. success rate is higher when we are continuing in a job as there is nothing to lose more. then how to click interviews is one of the most searched items in google. few things that have helped me and all are proper grooming with professional attire as first impression lasts long. be positive and confident but sometime over confidence can cost us heavily. honesty is the biggest asset a candidate has and is appreciated by employers so try to be honest. looking in the eyes of the interviewers will work. communication to be short and precise means candidates reply should be to the point. communication is very vital and we need to have excellent communication skills in english. feedback from interviewers will help us in next interview so dont miss out asking for the feedback. nothing is impossible if we try. i would request our seniors to add their valuable views to make it more effective. correct me if i am wrong and would be more than happy to learn.
My hr interview experience
Hi all i recently had a very unpleasant interview for a hr role. this was my very first hr interview. there were two interviewers both hr professionals one was rude and the other one really put me off. it seemed it was too much effort to smile at me. the interview was very stressful and i m not sure if that was on purpose. before this i really wanted the role but now i m reconsidering just because of the interviewers attitudes. the whole experience left me feeling yuck and incompetent and i m sure i blew it i was wondering: do i get to look forward to interviews like this in the future?? has anyone else experienced similar interviews that have been unpleasant?
Tips for hr interview
4"entering the room prior to the entering the door adjust your attire so that it falls well. before entering enquire by saying may i come in sir/madam. if the door was closed before you entered make sure you shut the door behind you softly. face the panel and confidently say good day sir/madam. if the members of the interview board want to shake hands then offer a firm grip first maintaining eye contact and a smile. seek permission to sit down. if the interviewers are standing wait for them to sit down first before sitting. an alert interviewee would diffuse the tense situation with lighthearted humor and immediately set rapport with the interviewers. enthusiasm the interviewer normally pays more attention if you display an enthusiasm in whatever you say. this enthusiasm come across in the energetic way you put forward your ideas. you should maintain a cheerful disposition throughout the interview i.e. a pleasant countenance hold s the interviewers interest. humor a little humor or wit thrown in the discussion occasionally enables the interviewers to look at the pleasant side of your personality. if it does not come naturally do not contrive it. by injecting humor in the situation doesnt mean that you should keep telling jokes. it means to make a passing comment that perhaps makes the interviewer smile. eye contact you must maintain eye contact with the panel right through the interview. this shows your selfconfidence and honesty. many interviewees while answering tend to look away. this conveys you are concealing your own anxiety fear and lack of confidence. maintaining an eye contact is a difficult process. as the circumstances in an interview are different the value of eye contact is tremendous in making a personal impact. be natural many interviewees adopt a stance which is not their natural self. it is amusing for interviewers when a candidate launches into an accent which he or she cannot sustain consistently through the interview or adopt mannerisms that are inconsistent with his/her personality. interviewers appreciate a natural person rather than an actor. it is best for you to talk in natural manner because then you appear genuine :
Failed interviews
Hi all my name is walter having a total experience of 10 years. last i was working was a team leader in a leading international bpo in pune. i worked there for 7 years and had 4 years of tl experience with semi tech as well as financial voice process based out of us with a span of more than 20 reportees. however last may i left the job due to family medical reasons. since november i have been looking out for a job for the same profile but could not convince the interviewers for the reason why i left the job as it is very personal about my mothers sickness and the reason why i could not get promoted in 4 years. i even made up different stories in 2 of the interviews but too deaf ears. somehow interviewers look at my decision as if i was asked to resign or terminated. past last 1 month i have not received any calls from any of the companies i have forwarded my cv to most of my friends and contacts still out of luck. i have financial commitments towards my family and also pressure is mounting day by day coz being out of work. somehow my interviews never went up to the stage where we could discuss about my work experience and also on my numerous achievements and tasks managed by me. i m bit lost and depressed as i have always been passionate hardworking and a team player at my work but today i don t even get any opportunities. please advice. i m also attaching my resume for any suggestions or openings for me. thanks walter j.m
