I joined an organization and quit it in less than 4 months. In my offer letter the notice period mentioned was 2 months. There was/is no probation period mentioned. Since I wanted to be relived prior 2 months I communicated the same to the company. At the end of the month my salary was blocked and I was told to pay them salary in lieu of notice period not served.

The reason I quit the company was since the profile communicated to be at interview was not in line with what work I was made to do.

My questions are.

• I was never given an appointment letter.

• Is it mandatory for a company to have probation period.

• Can the company file a police complaint if I refuse to pay them.

The company did not give me a full and final settlement letter on the last day. I had to write them an email stating that I had completed all exit procedures & to send me a F&F.

The F&F they sent me was sent with all incorrect data. I had to point those out to them & only after that they re-sent with corrections. This is how pathetic the company is.

Please help.
