Dear Members,
Under Contract labour act, person employing contract labour need to obtain registration certificate and have to be renewed every year.
In case if registration not renewed for two years, what is the legal provision for the same in the state of Maharashtra.
Kindly share the information.

Without renewing the RC engaging the contract labour would make employer liable for fine & / or imprisonment....
Without valid RC it would be difficult for employer to prove that the Contract Labours are engaged through the valid Contractors & conract workers may claim permanacy with the employer....

Registration is not renewed every year but labour licence is renewed .RC is updated for adition /deletion of contractor and period of contract with max limit of man power

Thanks a lot for your response.
In our case we were applied for amendment in RC during last year and asked for Challan towards fees for additional contractor. Due to some reason it was not provided to us. Now it is understood that concerned officer is going to issue notice, since period of all contracts expired and needs to be renewed and updated on RC.
