Hi seniors
I am recently join as hr assistant in a enterprises providing housekeeping services.
i have query that for a contract labor if his working hours is less than normal working hour mentioned under minimum wages Act so proportionately his wages also get less or nor
And
We have to follow minimum wages rules if employee works less than 8 hrs a day
Plz kindly help me .

Hi Neha,
No, you cannot pay employee less just because you can't offer them job for 8hrs. You are bound to pay them monthly agreed salary.
Also, 8 is a maximum working hours. An employer can decide lesser hours and its not a crime.
