Please identify the top three objectives that you are trying to establish, such as Building a listening-system , offering shorter Turn-around-Time for queries and offering the HR more analytics towards the HR Dashboard.
The initiative needs to be launched in three modes, first one through the Intratnet, second one through Townhalls with live interaction and open communication and finally through the employees, i.e. SPOCS [Single Point of Contact].
You can plan for a HR Help Desk , both virtual and real, to take the queries from the employee. If you are arranging for a real interaction , then zero down on the day where the employees will have the least work load. Identify a spot where they can easily reach and designate an HR to respond to them.
Virtual HR Help desk is easier to maintain . You create a page on your intranet offering the similar service. It works exactly the way , your IT Helpdesk works.
Arrange for HR Townhalls from time to time, where the employees meet the top HR Leaders and networks with them. This isn't an orientation program or even a training. Its a upfront interaction in a relatively open environment. The employee gets to raise any question and hear the leader speak.
Call for talk-shows. This is helpful as you can bring in fresh ideas to the employees. Invite a leader from the industry and allow the leader to speak on a very new topic. An external leader is preferable , if you firm is too big, you can invite the internal leaders as well.
Arrange for Brown-bag or focus group meeting. Here you either identify one or two employee from each team or randomly choose them. You can set an agenda for the meeting or allow the employees to raise questions. The discussions remain confidential and every employee gets their answer. Incase there are issues raised by the employees that can't be answered in the meeting follow it up later.
