Hi Vipul,
We have done this very training (Communication Skills including modules in English Grammar) in CASIO and they found it quite useful. We are a group of ex-IIT-Roorkee professionals with more than 40 yrs of varied industrial experience each. We are into Corporate Trainings, Recruitments & Management Consultancy. Do mail me the number of employees you need to get trained which you may have identified by conducting a TNA (Training Needs Analysis). In case you have not done this we can do this for you for a nominal charge as a precursor to the actual training. Looking forward to your response by mail, also feel free to call me on my mobile. Do visit our website for more details of our training modules, our faculty and our process, We-Exl Consulting Excellence Delivered

Dear VIPUL,
My suggestion are a under,In psychological perspective.
1) Your initiative to learn without inhibition is a positive trait.
2)To identify critical areas to be developed, you have to analyse every employee's personal details.
family environment, demographic set up they belong to,current off office environment, previous company's culture, real hurdles they have (their own statement),their initiative to learn, etc.
3)you can conduct PERSONALITY TEST to asses their ability. this will help you to sort-out your program.
keep in mind, always use EMPATHY.while discuss, deal, formulate.your program.
regards. S.C.kannan.

Dear Vipul

Try the below given steps you may teach them how to speak a good English.

1. Are your employees can write in English? say they would have passed a degree by writing n number of papers in their exams in English. If So they are all very well introduced to the language, their vocabulary will not be that much bad and they will have enough knowledge.

2. Introducing a Trainer will complicate your issue by making them more confused and the workshops conducted by them. It will only knowledge them with some phrases and a bunch of new words will be introduced.

3. I would like to start my suggestion with a example

Example: Do you ever watched a kid growing from 1yr to 3 yr. They will not get introduced to any letters or words but they will speak with a decent vocabulary and grammar on by only hearing their parents and surroundings speeches. This nothing but just imitating.

However in our case our employees know very well the language's words, letters and phrases. Do you think is it really hard to make them imitate a good English.

Yes it would be a tougher task for them too. Because for the animal tiger they will have two words in their mind "Sher" in Hindi and "Tiger" in English so when they are speaking English they just searching or translating for the animals name in the Mind Pool which has two Dictionary, 1 for each language.

1. First educate them that don't translate. Train your mind to understand that Tiger has two names "Sher" and "Tiger".

2. Ask them to think in English and deliver in their Native language. However we usually do this vice versa in real time.

3. Ask them to start thinking in English, but they need not speak in English. This will help them to nourish/merge their vocabulary of two different languages in their mind.

4. Even if you noticed yourself you would have forgotten some of the words in your native language, even when you speak to a common man it would be hard for you to recollect the correct word to describe it instead you will use English words in it. If you can feel this you will understand what i meant here.

5. If they started thinking in English within a week you can realize the changes. They will talk in a mix of Hindi and English for sure.

6. Later they will get confidence if you point those changes in their talking.

7. Finally they will start to speak in English.

If anybody who follows this they can speak a decent English in a Months time.

Refer to the word "Think in English" i would like to add some suggestions as well

1. Ask them to self narrate on what they did or doing since they wake up.

2. Are they planning something ask them to think in English.

3. Are they worrying on something ask them to groan in English.

4. If they are Happy even ask them to self express in English.

When they do this course make sure they don't try to speak in English. After one month ask them to speak they will speak in English with confidence.

Cheers have a great time !!!

Dear Vipul,
Believe me, it has to be an outside consultant and trainer to do this job.
The training programs internally recommended or taken are not taken seriously, both by the participants and the trainer due to their tight schedules.
The thing is that the problem has to be sorted out without pointing fingers at the team.
Share your email ID, i will send you the details of our training program ARJUNA. Have a look at a systematic way of catering to this problem. The program will just need a bit of tweaking to suit your needs. Till date it has been offered to the fresh management graduates with a high success rate.

Well, its better if you have some training sessions on weekly basis and hire a professional trainer and it will sure improve the communication and soft skills in your employees. As concern as motivating them for improving communication skills then a professional trainer can do it well. Also, what more you can do is that you should add communication skill levels in the appraisal forms so, an employee with good or better communication skills can get better appraisal comparing to employees having poor communication skills and make your employees aware of this.

Hello Mr Vipul ,
Plenty of suggestions have come from the members and I hope you would gainfully use them.
In my experience I found that there are two elements to what we refer as communication.
First one is the language part .
Second one is the behavioural part.
If you are good in English, you can begin right earnest without any external trainer.
If you can take care of behavioural part also plan accordingly.
1.0 Without referring to any name put on the notice board the wrong sentence
used by the employee and below that the correct one. Of course it may be possible
that a person gets identified. If people are progressive and positve about learning
they would take it in the right stride.
2.0 On a one to one basis you can correct and send the e mail back to the individual concerned.
Please start immendiately and good luck to you,

Hi Vipul,
I really appreciate your sincere approach for your employees. Though so many people have already given you nice suggestions, I would like to add that, It would be good if you try to involve them in small plays or skits in english language. This will help them understand simple things easily through fun. Moreover you can give them simple words and ask them to learn the synonyms through dictionary & thus help them framing the sentences. Since I've practised this at my office and It has really worked alot, I feel it will help you alot.
