Rule 61-O provides for appointment of Factory Medical Officer. Accordingly, a part time medical officer is required to be appointed if the number of workers is between 50 and 200 and a full time medical officer is required to be appointed if the number of employees exceed 200. At the same time one more medical officer is to be appointed if the number of employees exceed 500 and the number will go on like this with multiples of 1000 employees thereafter.

Please refere to your local office of Chief Inspector of Factories for medical officer’s qualification. Also refers Factories Act rules law book of your state.

I fully agree the rule position given by Madhu TK. A medical officer is must as per the provisions of factories act either part time or full tiem depends upon the working conditions and likely accident rates ina factory. Please refer relevant rules and regulations from your State please.

The Factory Medical Officer required to be appointed shall have qualifications included in Schedule to the Indian Medical Degrees Act of 1916 or in the Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and possess a certificate of Training in Industrial Health of minimum three months duration recognised by the State Government.

What is the amount to be paid to Factory Medical officer if he appointed in Factory (OHC) as per Factories Act Requirement.
Is there any clause id mentioned in Factories Act. kindly help me .
2.Rest Room (For Taking Rest): regarding Rest room provision - is it omitted as per below G.O. or we need to provide Rest rooms.
