Hello Priya,

First of all, the ideal way to get relieved from an Organization is to submit the resignation in the proper manner and complete the formalities as per the company procedure. In your case, you have not mentioned in what level you are working in the company and what is the actual reason for your relieving . It all depends upon the kind of relationship one maintain with the boss and other senior officlals.

a) If you are reallly want to quit on medical grounds, you can very well call and talk to them over phone and explain the problem. In addition to that, you can also shoot a main to your boss, duly marking a copy to HR and your senior bosses.

b) If you are planning to take up another job, the best way is to go in person and explain them that you have personal and family reason and unable to continue your job and request them to relieve you at the earlilest possible.

c) If you have any other official problem in your office, you have to sort out the issue by yourself on merits and request for relieving.

So, think and take a good decision. Any company would explect the outgoing employee to get separated in a smooth manner duly transfer the knowledge to the incoming person, handover the things properly, complete all the relieving formalities and so on. It is not going to end with this. You have to get all your dues settled properly like, gratuity, leave salary, performance incentive, subject to your eligibility.

Hope it will be of helpful to you.

Dear ALL,
This site is for guiding people who do not know HR Policies, procedures etc....
I hope we need to not spend time for this kind of people.
I mean, we should respect site HR.
Applied sickleave and now wants to join better job by giving wrong information. No proper handing over of documents, material etc., given by previous company. Leave about laws, it is un-ethical and immoral.

Dear Mr. Anonymous,
This is not a proper way to get seperated from the company. You are wrong on your approach whatevar you have done without any logic.Company is right from it's point of view. Now you are just in a need of F & F dues & relieving so that you can show in your next company which you have already joined.
Now for a smooth transition just reply to the mail attaching all your medical bills & reports so that your incapabilities to join your company for a longer period can be considered & you can be relieved on medical grounds.

Dear Madam
Your company is right, you must have taken appointment letter wherein the terms and conditions of employment with the company were enumerated. It is like an employment agreement and parties to the agreement must stick to the terms of the appointment.Proper handover of documents, one month notice or salary in lieu thereof is required.

This was not the right way to leave a job..If the company would have done the same ,you would have blamed them easily. Now the right way is to get back complete the leaving process and resign.

Dear X,
This is not Lawful Resignation. You should be professional in this regard. This is not a school or college whenever you want you can go. This is corporate so you should be bind with its policies and procedures.
