Hi all,
I am Phd Reserch student.Just started and in the stage of finalizing My topic.I doing my phd from pune university.
I am working on topic :workplace bullying and its relation to job satisfaction and productivity.
I want Help for the same.
1.I want to meet HR managers to discuss on the topic online or face to face, face to face would be most appreciated I am located in pune and can adjust timings.
2.I want to know How can I collect data.I will be focusing on companies in pune . Planning to use on line questionnaire.I want to know How can I approach companies to get permission to send questionnaire to there employees. and will employees fill the questionnaires.
3 I want if any organisation want to Participate in Research ,I am willing to share conclusions of my research and also willing to give consultancy on this topic covered.

Today I went to a MNC company Having office in pune.
Dy director had no idea about the Topic ,but very intrested when explained what is the issue ,what is the research done in this field.
Was very impressed and almost promised to participate in the Research .
I told that I will share my Reseach when it complets.and In what way it can help his company.since as per my information local employees are probem makers there.
So My first cold call was successful.
Have scheduled for 2 more MNCs(Part of my pilot study)

One more meeting with the L&D head of MNC.
Feedback was topic is good.generally difficult to get data can expect 2% success ration for filling questionnaire.
Also promised any possible help for the research.
Two more meeting in the next week and My pilot survey would be complete.

I have an opinion, which is not specific to this thread.
I appreciate Nashbramhall's references; they are first rate and an absolute pleasure to read; as well as an eye-opener, especially the data collection and meticulous research; and the absolutely admirable way they have been presented !!
Before the advent of Internet and Google, it would have been almost impossible for a research student in India to lay his hands on such excellent research papers from other part of the world.
My only concern is how can one ensure that such papers are not plagiarised ?
I think UGC and Association of Universities all over the world should have a watchdog body to continuously monitor and prevent plagiarism. A copy of all Ph D theses can be uploaded centrally and authenticated claims invited from general public.

Dear Raj Kumar,
I appreciate your concern. There are softwares available that can be used to check for plagiarisation. In my active days, I had used Turniitin <link no longer exists - removed> and had caught students plagiarising.
I have also raised issues at CiteHr about the topic and my concern about it led me to becoming active here. I am sorry to say that it's a big problem the world over. In India it is more of a problem due to the number of private institutions who are bent on making money rather than uphold standards. May be I am generalising, I stand to be corrected.

Today I met HR Manager and Senior HR of of Fortune 500 IT company in pune.
feedback was, It is easier to get data from IT companies than others like Manufacturing and Banking or others.
because average age of workforce is 25-30,also Empolyees are more assertive and do retaliate to bullying (wrong response as per Literatuer,find training need for bullying)
Also that if questionnaire takes care of those who fake themselves as workplace bulllying victim.they were not much aware in Bullying in IT ,but Mentioned comman in there BPO IT company.also that system is avaliable where individual can inform victimization with name or Hiding his identity.(I am planning to get those as case study)
Shared one case ,where boss bullied junior, stared with disagreement on a issue and escalated to Social Humiliation by boss of junior.also reported ,victim leaving company uninformed.
Found topic important and needed.

Dear Pratap,

Thank you for the attachment. I still have problem relating your working title (To study the Mobbing of Professors at workplace in Pune's Educational institutions.), aim and methodology. What is your population? Just one college or a number of institutions?

However, given the nature of the problem, snowball sampling is the correct technique to use to get the sample.
