Dear Sir,
One of my very close relative is employed as Regional Head for Insurance Broking Firm for the Past one year. He has been confirmed after probation and company has sent him for training. As he has submitted his resignation due to personal nature company has instructed him to give 3months notice as per the appointment letter for which he has agreed. Further Company after accepting his resignation, informed him to reimburse the training cost which was not mentioned any where else in the appointment letter. As he was having some personal work , he has taken 5 days E.L. during the notice period and his salary was deducted for 5 days even though he was having E.L.26 days & C.L.10 daus to his Credit.
Shall obliged for an opinion from the seniors to help my friend.
Regards.
Ravi

Dear Ravi,
This seems somewhere unorganised or this may be due to company's policy where it doesn't give any leaves during the notice period. This may be also due to unauthorised absence from duty, where your friend may have taken leave without any approval or may be verbal approval.Your friend needs to speak to HR; in case they don't clarify the reasons of deductions then he may place an application to HR Head or CEO or Director (whatever the case may be) for scrutiny of the mentioned case. Probably this is the best what he can do. Although I hope his balance leave (ELs) will be encashed in his full and final settlement of accounts.
Warm regards,

Dear Mr. Umesh, Thank you for the reply. I would like to know whether he has to re-imburse the training course which he underwent during his probation? Solicit your reply. Reagards. Ravi

Dear Ravi,
Not at all unless he has signed any specific bond for undergoing such training; the employee is not required to compensate any cost against on-the job training (OJT). The training help employees to perform better and helps him become more productive.
Warm regards,
