I am looking for some clarification about my career. I am basically an MBA specialising in HR. Now I have been selected as customer service executive. Would this designation be deemed to be related to HR field- what might be the job portfolio? If this job is not HR related, can I change my filed to HR in future?

'Customer Service (or Support) Executive' role in an IT Company marketing HR software solutions/ products or in a HR Consultancy services Company has certainly some HR orientation. It can be useful later in new roles like 'H R Analyst' or 'Business Analyst'. In other types of companies, this job of Customer Service Executive can provide a value add to your profile in terms of 'Client interaction capability' which is an important competency for HR executives who are to deal with other employees in the organization as the internal customers of HR. Remember, HR is no more a back office function & those who consider their role limited to that have already outlived their utility.
Being 'customer focused' is the core competency of any business and all those who develop the same are better aligned to the business needs. To that extent, count yourself as lucky & utilize this opportunity for your career growth.

Hi good evening I did BCA but im interested in HR I have 3 years experience in Customer service executive (offrole) & 2 months as HR executive in a consultancy now Im jobless but Im pursuing MBA HR in Bharathiyaar university, what I need to do to improve myself in HR field, pls guide me. Will I get job in HR ??
