As per Maternity Benefit Act, 1961. Maternity Leave is allowed for women employees for 84 days.
I just want to know whether it is allowed for 84 workings days or which also includes non working days like Sunday, N & F holidays.

its 12 weeks, so 84 calendar days.... hope this is simple to understand..

Dear Member The law clearly states 12 weeks and not 84 days. So there should be no confusion on this account as a week remains of 7 days. Regards Preetam Deshpande

As per Bangladesh Labor Law 2006, a female worker having completed six months services, will get maternity leave of 16 (8+8) weeks with wages. In this case, the employer shall not allow the worker to resume her duty before expiry of eight weeks after delivery.
But no maternity leave will be admissible if the female worker has two or more serviving children.

It is explictily prohibited u/s 12 of the Maternity Act to terminate the services of a employee during her pregnancy. She can approach the concerned govt authority for seeking redressal of her grievance.
