As per PF Act, any organization with more than 20 employees are eligible to register under EPF Scheme.
Since you have only 2 employees currently, you need to wait for the employee strength to exceed 20.
However, let me know if you need EPF number for getting contract or made compulsory to fill tender or so.
In that case, would advise you accordingly.

While endorsing to Manasi ji, I would add as under:
The Act is applicable to every factory in any industry specified in schedule I & every other establishment specified by Central Govt. and employing 20 or more persons.
While computing employees to 20 numbers, you should consider even employee engaged indirectly, i.e. thr' contractor. Directors on salary should also be counted. Directors getting remuneration shall be excluded. Partners shall be excluded.
Any factory or establishment can be covered under the Act voluntarily if employer and majority employees agrees to it under section 1(4).

The local PF office takes time to update the PF details,ask the employees to wait for some more time then they will be able access the e-passbook. Even i too faced the same problem initially later on my e-passbook was updated by PF authorities. I would suggest you to ask your employees to check the balance at a later stage. Show them their contributions details present in your records in order to build trust.

Your main query, what are the documents required for registration with PF?
Following documents you need to submit to EPFO along with an application for allotment of PF code number in prescribed format:
(i) A form for Allotment of EPFO Business Number duly filled in.
(ii) A copy of IT PAN Card.
(iii) A copy of Shops & Estb. Registration Certificate
(iv) A copy of Registration Certificates under Service Tax, VAT, CST, a
(v) A copy of work orders (minimum 2 if you are contractor)
(vi) Premises papers
(vii) Balance sheet and P/L statement form 1st year onwards
(viii) Month wise employment strength from the date of set up
(ix) Details of employees as on date
(x) A copy of Muster Roll and Salary Sheet for last month
(xi) A copy of PF working &
(xii) any other papers as directed by EPFO

i am a central PSU (BSNL) Employee and opted the EPF scheme with more pension (8.33%)than epf(3.6%) contribution but my regional(rajkot) epf office strait away reject the above said scheme. can any body explain about this pension scheme in detail ?
Form 9 has to be submitted for that two employees and Form 5 & 10 for every new joined employee.
